According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year, the number of new car registrations in Turkey increased by 31.3 percent month-on-month and decreased by 18.2 percent year-on-year to 159,931 units.
A total of 80,348 new passenger cars were registered in March, which is 27.2 percent more than in February, and declines by 15.3 percent year on year. Passenger vehicles accounted for 50.2 percent of total new vehicle registrations in a given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in March totaled 16,141 units, up 12.7 percent month-on-month and down 14.9 percent year-over-year. Small truck registrations accounted for 10.1 percent of total new registrations in that month
