Manganese ore shipments through Port Hedland increased by 147.1% in March 2026 compared to February

In March of this year, shipments of manganese ore from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 126,000 metric tons, up 147.1% month-on-month and 5% year-on-year, according to monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.

Meanwhile, China accounted for 59.5% of total manganese ore shipments this month, followed by India with 31.7% and Malaysia with 8.7%.

Port Hedland handles production at mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
