The government of the western Indian state of Goa has made a second attempt to auction 24 idle dumps of low-grade iron ore, a government official said.
The official said that the electronic auction process for these low-grade ore dumps has begun, including the dumps that were put up for auction earlier, but did not receive a single offer.
Earlier, the Goa government put up five idle dumps of low-grade iron ore for auction, but no bids were received for them, with the exception of one.
The official said that most of the dumps are located in the southern regions of the state. The smaller landfills had volumes ranging from 100,000 tons to 2.6 million tons, while the largest landfill in Sattari was 10 million tons.
