Ukraine and Sweden have agreed on a system to simplify accreditation procedures for emission control authorities within the framework of the EU Carbon Boundary Regulation Mechanism (CBAM).
The initiative is designed to support Ukrainian exporters in maintaining access to the EU market in the face of stricter environmental regulations. According to the plan, the Swedish Council for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment will assist in the accreditation of Ukrainian verification authorities, relying on the technical expertise of the National Agency for Accreditation of Ukraine.
The ability to use actual emission data
This system will allow Ukrainian exporters to verify greenhouse gas emissions using actual data rather than default values.
