Japan's crude steel production decreased by 4.1 percent in March 2026

According to data released by the Japanese Federation of Ferrous Metallurgy (JISF), in March of this year, crude steel production in Japan increased by 8.2 percent compared to the previous month and decreased by 4.1 percent compared to March 2025, amounting to 6.91 million tons.

Meanwhile, Japan's pig iron production totaled 4.91 million metric tons in this month, an increase of 7.7 percent from the previous month and a decrease of 4.6 percent year-on-year.
