Between January and March this year, China's stainless steel imports and exports totaled 408,300 tons and 794,800 tons, up 9.44 percent and 35.17 percent year on year, respectively, according to China's customs authorities.
In March alone, China's stainless steel imports and exports totaled 147,400 tons and 302,200 tons, up 16.85 percent and up 16.22 percent month-on-month, up 12.57 percent and down 55.71 percent year-on-year, respectively.
In the first three months, China's net stainless steel exports were 386,500 tons, up 50.14 percent less than last year.
In March alone, net stainless steel exports to China amounted to 154,800 tons, down 54.7 percent from last year.
In March of this year, China's stainless steel scrap imports totaled 14,100 tons, up 6.03 percent month-on-month, an increase of 124.94 percent year-on-year. Between January and March this year, China's imports of stainless steel scrap totaled 41,800 tons, up 110.35 percent year-on-year.
