The manufacturing sector, which has the largest weight in the index, grew by 4.3 percent in March, continuing to hold the total volume of industrial production. The volume of production in the mining industry increased by 5.5 percent, indicating high activity in the main sectors.
However, the growth in electricity production slowed sharply to just 0.8 percent, which affected the overall figure.
The production of base metals increased by 8.6 percent, driven by higher output of steel products such as slabs, alloyed flat products and hot-rolled coils.
