INOX Air Products Private limited has commissioned a high-capacity cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) at Tata Steel limited's newly commissioned electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant at Ludhiana in the northern state of Punjab, the company said in a statement on Thursday, April 30.
The 280 mt per day ASU will provide a continuous supply of high purity oxygen, nitrogen and argon gas to produce high quality steel for Tata Steel limited's EAF steel plant, the statement said.
Under the agreement between the two companies, INOX will also be able to supply products from its ASU to industrial customers across the region, thereby reducing delivery lead times and strengthening supply chains across industries.
INOX said that the facility, which supplies high purity gas to the EAF plant, will will greatly contribute to the latter becoming a model steel plant that is cleaner, smarter and more sustainable.
