According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), in the first quarter of this year, registrations of new commercial vehicles in the European Union (EU) increased by 4.2 percent year-on-year to 453,378 units.
In the first quarter of this year, new truck registrations in the EU increased by 10.6 percent year-on-year to 81,766 units. This growth was mainly driven by a 12.6% increase in heavy truck sales, as well as a more modest 0.7% increase in the number of medium truck registrations.
During this period, most major EU markets saw an increase in truck registrations, including Poland (+32.8%), Spain (+17.1%) and Germany (+6.9%), while France saw a decrease of 1.4% compared to the first quarter of 2025.
On the other hand, bus sales increased by 24.5% year-on-year compared to the first quarter of 2025, totaling 10,964 units.
