Indian state-owned mining company NMDC limited achieved iron ore production of 4.64 million tonnes in April 2026, up 26 percent from the corresponding month of the previous year, according to a company statement on Monday, May 4.
The company's total iron ore sales recorded a marginal increase to 3.68 million tonnes in April 2026 from 3.63 million tons in April 2025.
“The expansion of NMDC's capacity and capabilities is in full swing. We have laid the necessary foundations in logistics, infrastructure, technology and supply chain integration to enable our strategic leap forward. Starting from 4.6 million tonnes in April, NMDC is committed to achieving over 60 million tonnes in FY 2026-27,” NMDC limited Chairman and Managing Director Amitava Mukherjee said.
