Peruvian steelmaker Siderperu reported net income of $14.639 million for the first quarter of 2026, up 54.4 percent from the $9.483 million achieved in the same period in 2025.
The company attributes the sharp increase in net income to higher sales volumes, improved operating efficiency and lower financial costs.
Net sales increased by 18.2 percent to $108.409 million, production costs increased by 14.6 percent to $154.431 million, gross profit increased by 45.4 percent to $26.068 million and operating profit increased by 54.6 percent to $21.689 million.
Controlled by the Brazilian group Gerdau, Siderperu has a production capacity of 750 000 people. metric tons (mt) per year.
Siderperu reports its results in Peruvian new soles (PEN), converted here at the rate of 3.51 PEN/USD.
