S. (Kardemir) has announced its financial and operating results for the first quarter of this year.
In the quarter, Kardemir recorded a net profit of 24.52 million Turkish liras (US$ 540,402), compared with a net loss of 1.94 billion Turkish liras recorded in the same quarter last year. In the first quarter of this year, the company recorded an operating profit of 757.02 million Turkish liras (USD 16.68 million), compared with an operating loss of 674.55 million Turkish liras in the first quarter of 2025. Kardemir's sales revenue decreased by 17.9 percent year-on-year to 15.47 billion Turkish liras (341.06 million US dollars).
In the first quarter, Kardemir's consolidated EBITDA amounted to 2.02 billion Turkish liras (44.53 million US dollars), an increase of 34.5 percent year-on-year.
In the quarter, Kardemir produced 633,759 tons of steel, up 2.7 percent, and cast iron production totaled 652,649 tons, up 0.9 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, the company said its product sales in the first quarter totaled 561,682 million tons, down 11.6 percent year-on-year.
