In April of this year, pig iron production in Ukraine amounted to 554 thousand tons, which is 19.7% less month-on-month and 16.1% year-on-year, according to the Ukrainian Metallurgical Association Ukrmetallurgprom.
In this month, steel production in the country fell by 26.3% compared to the previous month and by 25.3% year on year. to 517.3 thousand tons, while the production of rolled steel amounted to 460.8 thousand tons, decreasing by 15.4 percent month-on-month and by 15.8 percent compared to the same month last year.
Meanwhile, in the first four months of 2026, Ukraine produced 2.36 million tons pig iron, down 0.3 percent from last year, and steel production for the same period amounted to 2.25 million, down 7.4 percent, and rolled steel production totaled 1.80 million tons, down 9.1 percent, year on year.
