Brazilian steel and iron ore producer Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) reported a net loss equivalent to $111.450 million in the first quarter of 2026, compared with a net loss of $146.904 million in the same period in 2025.
Net sales increased 2.8 percent to $2.129 billion, production costs decreased by 3.51 percent to $1.622 billion, and gross profit decreased by 0.4 percent to $506.567 million.
Despite the year-on-year decline, finance costs equivalent to $262.420 million were the main reason for the negative profitability, reflecting the high interest rates paid company.
