U.S. imports of cold-rolled coil totaled 54,744 tons in March this year, down 24.8 percent month-on-month and down 53.2 percent year-over-year, according to preliminary U.S. Commerce Department census data. In value terms, CRC imports were $51.63 million in March this year, compared to $69.34 million in February and $133.43 million in March 2025.
The United States imported the most CRC from Canada in March with 17,805 tons, compared to 14,707 tons in February and 35,869 tons in March 2025. Other major sources of CRC imports in March include South Korea with 8,008 metric tons, Vietnam with 4,858 metric tons, Mexico with 4,343 metric tons and the Netherlands with 4,210 metric tons.
