The value of Turkey's iron and steel imports rose 3.7 percent year-on-year to $2.05 billion in April this year, according to preliminary foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). This month, iron and steel ranked as the country's fifth most imported commodity by value. In the first four months of this year, Turkey's import value of iron and steel was $7.43 billion, up 4.4 percent from the same period in 2025.
Meanwhile, in April, the import value of iron and steel products, ranked 15th among the products with the highest import value, rose 29.9 percent to $451.54 million. and the value of imports of iron and steel products in January-April of this year increased by 14.4 percent to $1.58 billion year on year
