Taiwan's CSC reports a 3% decrease in operating income for January-April 2026

China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taiwan's largest steel producer, has announced preliminary financial results for the first four months of this year.

In April, the company's carbon steel sales totaled 695,654 tons, while in January-April, carbon steel sales totaled 2.54 million tons.

In the first four months, CSC's operating revenue was 110.05 billion New Zealand dinars ($3.50 billion), down three percent year-on-year, while the operating loss was 1.91 billion New Zealand dinars ($60.79 million) compared to compared to the operating profit of 1.13 billion New Zealand dinars recorded in the same period last year. Operating revenue and operating profit decreased due to a decrease in the average selling price and the specific gross profit of the metallurgical workshop.
