The Indian company BCCL starts production at a coking coal processing plant with a capacity of 2 million tons

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a subsidiary of state-owned Coal India Limited (CIL), has started operations at a 2 million-ton-per-year coking coal processing plant aimed at increasing the supply of enriched coal to steel mills, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The plant was built on a Construction, Operation and Maintenance model and is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies such as the commissioning of a new processing plant located in the eastern state of West Bengal, taking place at a time when India is heavily dependent on imports of coking coal to meet the demand of the domestic steel industry, which This leads to a significant outflow of foreign currency, the company said. Announced that it will invest about $345 million in the construction of eight new coking coal processing plants with a total capacity of about 21 million tons per year.
