Analysts said Werneck was referring to rumors that the government would add HRC to anti-dumping duties imposed in February on imports of CRC and coated flat steel from China.
Werneck made the remarks during a ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Ouro Branco plant, the group's largest plant, also located in Minas Gerais. state.
With a production capacity of 4.5 million tons of crude steel per year, Ouro Branco produces a wide range of long and flat products, including HRC, structural beams, wire rod and rebar, providing more than 10 percent of the steel produced in Brazil and serving industries such as civil engineering, automotive, agriculture, energy and shipbuilding.
