The Ukrainian metallurgical plant Zaporizhstal, owned by Metinvest, announced production results for May and the first five months of 2026.
In May, Zaporizhstal produced 242.1 thousand tons of pig iron, 243.4 thousand tons of raw steel and shipped 208.9 thousand tons rolled steel, having decreased by 17.8%. In January-May of this year, the volume of pig iron production at Zaporizhstal amounted to 1.26 million tons, having decreased by 12.0 percent year-on-year, respectively.
Zaporizhstal in January-May of this year produced 1.26 million tons of pig iron, decreasing by 12.0 percent compared to the same period last year, and steel production and rolled steel shipments were 1.16 million tons and 1.03 million tons, respectively, down 10.7 percent and 6.3 percent year on year.
