Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 10.4 percent in January-April 2026, with Romania leading the way with a decrease of 6.6 percent.

According to preliminary data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports totaled 64,740 metric tons, which is 51.2 percent less than in March and 35.1 percent more year-on-year. Meanwhile, revenue from these exports totaled $37.60 million, down 50.9 percent from the previous month and up 31.3 percent year-on-year.

In the period from January to April, the export of wire rod from Turkey amounted to 301,501 tons, which is 10.4 percent less, and the value of these exports decreased by 10.6 percent to 175.21 US dollars. million, both year-on-year.

According to the latest data, when comparing the countries that imported the most wire rods from Turkey in the period from January to April last year with the top ten countries of this year, the list remained largely similar, although there were noticeable changes in the ratings. Romania maintained its leading position despite a 6.6% year-on-year decrease in imports from Turkey to 116,559 tons. Australia and Bosnia and Herzegovina rose in the ranking, showing significant growth, while Libya dropped from second to ninth place amid a 75.5 percent year-on-year decline. Spain, the UAE and Haiti, which were in the top 10 last year, dropped out of the list this year, while Chile, Serbia and Albania entered the top 10.
