At the end of May (May 21-31) this year, the average price in China for HRB 400E 20 mm rebar decreased by RMB 51.7/mt ($7.6/mt) or 1.6 percent to RMB 3265.7/mt ($479/mt), compared with the price in mid-May (May 11-20) as announced by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
During this period, the average prices of wire rod, medium-sized steel sheet, hot-rolled roll (HRC) and angles decreased by 1.1 percent, 0.8 percent, 1.3 percent and 1.0 percent, respectively, while the average price of seamless steel pipes remained stable, all compared to the middle of May.
