Turkey's HRC exports decreased by 18.4 percent in January-April 2026, while European markets gained weight.

In April of this year, exports of hot rolled steel (HRC) from Turkey totaled 218,845 metric tons, down 23.8 percent from March and 24.2 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, revenue from these exports totaled $128.23 million, down 20.0 percent from the previous month and 25.7 percent year-on-year.

In the period from January to April, HRC exports from Turkey totaled 819,309 tons, an increase of 18.4 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 19.5 percent to 465.45 US dollars. million, both year-on-year.

The top 10 main export destinations of hot-rolled coils from Turkey in the period from January to April have changed significantly compared to the same period last year. Italy retained its leading position, although exports to the country decreased by 28.8 percent year-on-year to 204,964 tons. Spain remained in second place, and the tonnage of exports to the country decreased by 44.5 percent. Italy, Spain, Greece, Egypt, and Romania were in the top ten in both periods, while Belgium, Bulgaria, Morocco, North Macedonia, and the United Kingdom were in the top ten this year. Meanwhile, Portugal, the United States, Libya, Ukraine and Tunisia dropped out of the list this year.
