The company stated that the significant increase in steel production was due to its Dolvi steel mill returning to full operation, as well as an increase in production from its joint ventures.
Crude steel production at Indian plants of JSW Steel Limited in May 2026 amounted to 2.19 million tons, which is 15 percent more than last year. JSW Steel Ohio, USA, achieved output of 95,000 tons, up from 79,000 tons in May 2025.
"Despite the high production performance, the company continues to implement strategic capacity expansion projects. The Blast furnace-3 (DP3) at its flagship steel plant in Vijayanagar in southern India is currently shut down for capacity expansion work. The furnace is expected to resume operation this month. This is likely to provide an additional boost to production in the coming months," the company said.
