According to Chinese customs authorities, China's steel sheet exports totaled 20.06 million tons in January-May this year, down 13.9 percent year-on-year, 2.7 percentage points slower than the decline recorded in the first four months of this year.
In May alone, China's steel sheet exports totaled 6.1 million tons, up 3.7 percent less than last year and up 11.7 percent month-on-month.
Overseas demand for steel sheet/rolled steel improved in May, leading to higher exports that month compared to the previous month.
