This project, which is part of WISCO's strategy to optimize the layout of production lines, will expand the company's capabilities in the high-quality steel segments, including railway, automotive and photovoltaic applications. Designed to meet the strict quality requirements of rail steel production, the new casting mill will ensure stable and accurate continuous casting, improving the quality of both the surface and the inner bloom already at the initial stage of production.
According to Primetals, the equipment and optimized process configuration will help improve the purity of the molten steel and the compactness of the blumes, while increasing productivity and production management efficiency. It is expected that the project will establish a stable continuous casting and quality control system aimed at avoiding surface defects and preventing internal cracks, thereby ensuring a reliable supply of high-quality blums for further processing.
