Rig count increase in US and Canada - Week 25 of 2026

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ended June 18, 2026, the number of U.S. rotary drilling rigs increased by one rig week over the week to 563.

The number of gas production rigs increased by one to 122, while the number of oil production rigs remained unchanged at 433. The total number of U.S. drilling rigs increased by nine rigs compared to the same period last year.   Meanwhile, the number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by six to 186 in the week ending June 18. The number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by 47 compared to the same reporting period the previous year.
