The eight main industries are coal, crude oil, natural gas, refined petroleum products, fertilizers, steel, cement, and electricity.
Production in five key sectors - coal, crude oil, natural gas, refined products and fertilizers - recorded negative growth in May.
Growth in refined product production fell to a 42-month low of 8.7 percent, down from a moderate 0.5 percent decline in April. In addition, coal production decreased by 9.3 percent in May, which was a 10-month low.
Crude oil production decreased by 4.6 percent during the month, compared with a 3.9 percent decline in the previous month, while natural gas production decreased by 4.9 percent, a three-month low.
In addition, the decline in fertilizer production slowed to 0.9 percent in May, compared with an 8.6 percent decline in April.
