The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission has announced that it has opened another anti-dumping investigation into imports of galvanized (galvanized) steel from South Korea and Vietnam following the withdrawal of local steel manufacturer BlueScope Steel from a previous investigation to correct company names.
The investigation was launched at the request of local steel manufacturer Bluescope Steel limited and covers the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025 year. The complainant alleged that the goods were exported to Australia at prices below their normal value and that the dumping caused significant harm to the Australian industry.
The new investigation covers Dongkuk Steel Mill Co Ltd., Dongkuk Coated Metal Co. Ltd. and POSCO, Hoa Sen Group and Nam Kim Steel Joint Stock Company.
An investigation was previously launched at the request of BlueScope Steel No. 703 on the same product from these countries. BlueScope did not change its allegations of dumping, but the company withdrew Investigation No. 703 and filed a new petition, Investigation No. 706, containing the same allegations, solely to correct the company names of certain South Korean and Vietnamese exporters listed in the original application. Investigation No. 703 concerned Dongkuk Steel Mill Co Ltd., Dongkuk Coated Metal Co. Ltd. Posco Holdings Inc., Hoa Sen Group Joint Stock Company and Nam Kim Steel Joint Stock Company.
