According to Taiwan's Ministry of Economy (MOEA), Taiwan's industrial production index increased by 8.03 percent in May this year from the previous month and by 11.78 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased 1.55 percent month-on-month and 11.42 percent year-on-year.
In this month, the volume of industrial production in the base metals sector in the country increased by 3.38 percent, while the volume of metal products increased by 7.74 percent compared to the previous month. In addition, year-on-year base metal production increased by 8.19 percent in May, while metal products production increased by 18.76 percent.
Meanwhile, in May, production in Taiwan's machinery industry increased by 10.68 percent, while production in the automotive industry grew by 2.44 percent year-on-year.
