On the last day of the last month of the EU quota period from April 1 to June 30, according to the European Commission, some import quotas for certain steel products allocated to India, Turkey and "other countries" were exceeded.
With regard to exceeded quotas, Turkey exceeded quotas of 398,355 tons for hot-rolled sheets without alloys and 84,033 tons for hollow sections, with 1,811 tons and 98 tons of these products respectively expected in EU ports. India has exhausted its quotas of 225,305 tons for hot-rolled sheets without alloys and 31,765 tons for stainless bars and light profiles, with 3,818 tons and 410 tons of these products respectively expected in EU ports. In addition, Taiwan has used up its entire quota of 118,130 tons for metal-coated sheets allocated under "other countries", while 3,920 tons are expected at EU ports.
Looking at the exhausted quotas, the quotas of 37,560 tons for metal-coated sheets allocated to South Korea have been exhausted. India has exhausted the quota of 7,428 tons for tin factory products allocated under "other countries". China has used up its entire quota of 140,406 tons for unalloyed and other alloy trade bars and light sections, while Vietnam has exhausted its quotas of 15,089 tons for unalloyed and other alloy wire rods allocated under "other countries".
