Located approximately 100 km north of the Roy Hill mine, McPhee Creek is managed by the Hancock Prospecting subsidiary HanRoy Iron Ore Projects. Pty Ltd and has a design annual capacity of 8-9.7 million tons. In the 2025-26 financial year, the project produced the first ore on schedule, becoming the newest producing mine of Hancock Iron Ore in the Pilbara region.
The development of the project included one million cubic meters of earthworks, the construction of key mine infrastructure, workshops and a 220-room residential town, as well as about 100 km of upgraded paved roads built in partnership with the Government of Western Australia to improve access to the site and support the region. infrastructure.
Ore from McPhee Creek will be transported to Roy Hill for processing and mixing, which will help improve the product range and maintain production volumes at Hancock Iron Ore's broader Pilbara facilities.
