As part of the project, Tenova will provide design, equipment supply, and commissioning services for the EDP modernization, providing advanced solutions designed to improve operational efficiency and protect critical equipment at the Koppel Steel Mill.
This project is part of Tenaris' previously announced over $90 million investment program for the Koppel Steel Mill and the Ambridge seamless pipe plant in Pennsylvania, as previously reported by SteelOrbis. The program includes automation projects, equipment upgrades, and safety-related improvements, with most of the work expected to continue in the second half of 2027.
Tenova stated that the project will be fully implemented in the United States by Tenova Inc., from design to production, which will allow for closer coordination with Tenaris and support more efficient project implementation through the company's capabilities in the United States.
Francesco Memoli, President and CEO of Tenova Inc., stated that the project reflects the two companies' shared commitment to innovation and long-term competitiveness of steel production, as well as further strengthening Tenova's ongoing collaboration with Tenaris
