According to the statement, KLW produced 100 passenger wheels with a diameter of 750 mm in April and 72 locomotive wheels with a diameter of 1016 mm in April according to the end-user specification.
The long-term contract covers 10 types of wheels
KLW reported that the long-term agreement includes the supply of 10 different types of railway wheels. The products will be used for the maintenance and repair of the customer's fleet of rolling stock, including passenger, freight and locomotives.
Niklas Eriksson, the leading sales manager for railway products in the EU market and OEM manufacturers at KLW, said that the order was secured thanks to the company's long-term cooperation with the Greek distributor of railway products Artemi. According to Eriksson, the partnership has allowed KLW to strengthen its position in the Greek rolling stock market.
He added that demand in the Greek railway sector often switches between different wheel designs and wheel sets, which requires suppliers to remain flexible. Therefore, KLW continues to produce small batches of specialized railway wheels to meet the changing demands of customers.
