HDG imports to the United States increased by 7.3 percent in May 2026 compared to April

According to preliminary data from the US Department of Commerce, imports of hot-dip galvanized sheets to the United States in May this year amounted to 90,595 tons, which is 7.3 percent more than in April and 17.1 percent lower than in May 2025. In value terms, HDG imports totaled $94.5 million in May 2026, compared with $86.5 million in the previous month and $130.8 million in the same month of 2025.

The United States imported the most HDG from Canada in May, at 38,270 tons, compared with 39,517 tons in April and 56,669 tons in May 2025. Other major sources of HDG imports in May include South Korea with 22,528 tons, Austria with 5,486 tons, and Germany with 5,291 tons. mt.Editor
