India’s Jindal Stainless reported net profit of INR 8.98 billion ($94.82 million) for the second quarter of fiscal 2026-27, covering July to September. That was an 11% increase from the same period a year earlier, the company said on Friday, October 23.
Revenue rose 18% year on year to INR 128.74 billion ($1.36 billion). The company said demand was supported by higher sales of value-added products and momentum in the automotive and ornamental pipe and tube segments.
Jindal Stainless said plates and ferritic grades were finding wider acceptance in global markets, particularly in white goods, lifts and elevators. In India, meanwhile, import pressure has increased since April 2026.
“Imports of stainless steel flat products from China in July 2026 were 2.9 times the monthly average for the previous fiscal year. The first four months of fiscal 2026-27 alone accounted for about 63% of all imports from China in the previous year,” the company said.
