According to Chinese customs authorities, between January and June of this year, stainless steel imports and exports to China totaled 752,400 tons and 2,0558 million tons, up 9.07 percent and 17.77 percent year-on-year, respectively, according to Chinese customs authorities.
In June alone, China's stainless steel imports and exports totaled 120,200 tons and 443,100 tons, up 24.24 percent and 6.26 percent month-on-month, up 9.82 percent and 13.63 percent year-on-year, respectively.
In the first six months, China's net stainless steel exports totaled 1.3034 million tons, down 22.07 percent year-on-year.
In June, China's net stainless steel exports alone totaled 322,900 tons, up 15.11 percent from last year.
In June of this year, imports of stainless steel scrap to China totaled 22,300 tons, which is 25.82 percent more than last month, an increase of 146.89 percent year-on-year. In the period from January to June of this year, imports of stainless steel scrap to China amounted to 101,300 tons, which is 86.97 percent more than last year.
