Turkish steel producer Yükselen Çelik has announced its financial results for the first half of this year.
During the reporting period, the company generated a net profit of 54.32 million Turkish liras (US$1.13 million), compared with a net loss of 54.32 million Turkish liras. 123.16 million such cases were reported in the first half of 2025. In the first half of the year, Yukselen Celik reported an operating profit of 126.54 million Turkish liras (US$2.64 million), compared with an operating loss of 68.64 million Turkish liras in the previous half. In the same period last year, sales revenue increased by 32.2% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 838.85 million Turkish liras ($17.5 million).
In his report, Yukselen Celik named fluctuations in steel prices as one of the risks facing the industry. The company said that a sudden drop in steel prices could lead to a decrease in the value of existing stocks, while periods of rising prices could lead to higher costs.
The company also noted that since a significant portion of the raw materials used in the Turkish steel industry are imported, fluctuations in exchange rates can affect the cost of goods sold and inventory costs.
Among the risks, possible changes in environmental regulations were also mentioned, which could affect Yukselen Celik's activities. The company stated that possible environmental regulations related to the specialty steel industry could have an impact on its operations and revenues.
