US-based Commercial Metals Company (CMC) reported net income of $212.5 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, up 40% from a year earlier and 22.8% from the previous quarter. Net sales rose 25.7% year on year to $2.66 billion, while core EBITDA increased 35.1% to $393.7 million.
For the fiscal year ended August 31, CMC posted net income of $655.8 million, compared with $84.7 million a year earlier. Net sales rose 20.5% to $9.39 billion, and core EBITDA climbed to $1.36 billion from $837.3 million in fiscal 2025.
External steel product shipments totaled 818,000 tons in the fourth quarter, up from 788,000 tons a year earlier. Rebar shipments fell from 544,000 to 507,000 tons, while merchant bar and other product shipments increased 27.5% to 311,000 tons.
CMC said quarterly net income benefited from a lower effective tax rate. The year-on-year comparison also reflects $362.3 million in 2025 expenses related to litigation with Pacific Steel Group, which were absent in fiscal 2026.
“We expect fiscal 2027 will be another strong year for CMC. Our focus remains on delivering profitable growth, improving free cash flow generation, enhancing shareholder returns, and, above all, continuing to advance our strategic agenda,” CEO Peter Matt said.
