An important MSCI Russia index for passively controlled funds will leave Mechel and NLMK today. This was reported by "Vedomosti".
Currently, the MSCI Russia index includes 27 Russian companies. The most “heavy” is Gazprom with a weight of 19.75 percent, in the 2nd and 3rd places-Sberbank and Lukoil with a weight of 15.9 and 14.9 percent, respectively.
According to analysts from VTB Capital Tonight, the MSCI Barra agency will exclude the receipt of Mechel and NLMK from its Russian index. The main Deutsche Bank strategist Yaroslav lisovolik is in solidarity.
In this case, the outflow of capital from papers of metallurgical companies will be $ 28 million and $ 48 million, respectively, the Deutsche Bank report said.
Instead of the retired outsiders, the MSCI Russia index can include the papers of Fosagro, which will attract about 60 million dollars in its assets. The Bank VTB predict an increase in the weight of the securities of Norilsk Nickel by $ 104 million, since this company has recently decided to pay off the treasury package of 16.99 percent, which, according to MSCI methodology, will increase the Free Float C 25 to 30 percent.
All changes will enter into force after the closure of the markets on May 31.
