Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC) reported revenue of NTD 256.67 billion ($7.88 billion) for January-September 2026, up 6.2% year on year. Operating profit was NTD 4.55 billion, compared with an operating loss of NTD 4.26 billion in the same period of 2025.
Steel product sales reached 5.62 million mt in the first nine months. September sales totaled 623,855 mt.
CSC said its improved results were mainly driven by higher sales volumes in its steel division and increased dividend income from mining investments. Operating profit fell month on month in September as gross profit per unit in the steel division declined.
The company also noted that steelmaking costs remained high. US spot prices for hot-rolled coil continued to rise amid tight supply, while EU prices were stable under tariff-rate quotas on imports. Producers in several Asian countries raised list prices amid tighter supply and cost pressures.
