Steel and coal prices in China edge down in late October

Average prices for finished steel products in China edged down from October 26 to November 1, 2026, the Ministry of Commerce said.

Prices for common medium steel plate and hot-rolled steel strip fell 0.7% week on week, while rebar declined 0.4%. Coal prices also slipped: thermal coal was down 0.6%, coking coal 0.2% and smoke-free lump coal 0.1%.
