US steel mills shipped 8,047,607 net tons of steel in September 2026, down 2.1% from August. The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) said shipments were up 0.2% compared with September 2025.
Shipments totaled 72,014,802 net tons in January–September, a 4.8% increase over the first nine months of 2025.
Year to date, shipments of corrosion-resistant sheet and strip rose 10%, while hot-rolled sheet and strip increased 8%. Cold-rolled sheet and strip shipments declined 0.6%.
