Turkey exported 1.93 million metric tons of hot rolled coil (HRC) in January–September 2026, down 15.8% year on year. Export revenue fell 13.7% to $1.15 billion, according to preliminary data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
September shipments totaled 202,369 metric tons, down 21.6% from August and 32.9% from September last year. Revenue declined 22.7% month on month and 27.5% year on year to $122.24 million.
Italy remained the largest destination in the first nine months, taking 450,376 metric tons, down 36.2% year on year. Exports to Spain fell 37.6% to 240,052 metric tons. Shipments to Bulgaria, by contrast, rose 397.5% to 124,584 metric tons.
Declines in traditional EU markets deepened, while growth in some other destinations did not make up for the losses. The September drop also points to weaker export momentum at the end of the third quarter.
