Türkiye reduced the import of iron ore in August

According to data published by the Turkish Institute of Statistics, iron ore imports in the country for a month amounted to 628,500 tons. This result indicates a 9 percent fall in annual calculus and a sharp decrease by 20 percent compared to the last month.

In August, Brazil was the largest exporter of iron ore to Turkey. Its export amounted to 341 037 tons; Sweden was the second largest - 165,064 tons, and Ukraine was the third largest - 108,316 tons. In the first 8 months of 2013, in Turkey, iron ore imports amounted to 5.4 million tons, which is slightly higher than 4.8 million tons for the same period of 2012.
