Since the beginning of July, ThyssenKrupp Steel Service Center has been operating under the name ThyssenKrupp Materials Processing Europe. The new structure will help expand work with international clients.
This segment is primarily targeted at customers in the automotive, electrical, construction and furniture industries. The company has recently expanded to include two new service centers: a steel service center in Gyr, Hungary, and an Edelstahl stainless steel machining center in Willich, Germany. The addition of new plants increased the segment's production capacity by more than 2 million tonnes. By the end of the year, it is planned to expand the group's aluminum capabilities by including Metallcenter Wörth.
The group's strategy will be to place facilities as close to consumers as possible. Already 40 percent of sales are now carried out outside Germany. According to CEO Markus Wahl, ThyssenKrupp's global European material handling and product diversity will help meet the growing needs of customers.
