According to the latest statistics released by the World Steel Association, the global crude steel output of the 67 countries reporting to the Association totaled 142.080 million tonnes in April this year. April production continued to climb 5.0% from output in the same month a year earlier. These 67 countries accounted for approximately 99% of total global crude steel production in 2016.
The ten largest world countries in terms of total crude steel production, in thousands of tons, in April 2017 included:
