The production of a new brand of steel 08GBFU has begun on Azovstal

Steel 08GBFU will find its application in the production of large diameter pipes for the oil and gas industry. The new brand introduced at the Azovstal plant is characterized by increased resistance to hydrogen sulfide corrosion, which is extremely important to maintain the strength characteristics of the metal rolling in the conditions of an aggressive environment.

For several months, samples made of 08GBFU steel were tested at the Azovstal factory laboratory. In addition to increased requirements for mechanical tests. The new brand of steel was checked for resistance to cracking in a hydrogen sulfide environment. The obtained indicators are fully consistent with the claimed properties of steel and the technical requirements for rental.

Enver Tskitishvili, General Director of Azovstal PJSC, considers it necessary to introduce new products into the production of new products to increase the competitiveness and customer orientation of the enterprise he headed. “In the context of the global crisis and weakening of demand, the customer -orientation of production, the high efficiency and organization of the labor of each employee of the plant will guarantee the stable operation of the enterprise,” Enver Tskitishvili emphasized.

Over the past two years, the Azovstal plant has mastered and introduced more than 100 new steel brands. Half of them are used in the manufacture of sheet metal rolling.
