Metinvest Central GOK launches premium pellet production

Reconstruction of the pelletizing plant has been completed at the Central Mining and Processing Plant of Metinvest Group. Now the production complex produces products that meet the best international quality standards. Investments in the project amounted to UAH 52 million.

Thanks to the new equipment of the world's leading companies, the plant started to produce pellets of uniform size and increased strength.

The reconstruction of the factory took place in several stages. In the autumn of last year, a mixer from the German company Eirich was put into operation at the enterprise. The unit is designed for the preparation of high-quality batch. In 2017, specialists modernized the conveyor transport, installed a roller screen from the Canadian corporation Métal 7 and dispensers from Siemens. The technological process is controlled by automation. The use of modern technology has increased the productivity of the factory by 7%.

General Director of the Central Mining and Processing Plant Dmitry Shevchik:

- In order to insure the plant in a situation when prices for iron ore raw materials are declining, we decided to launch production of fundamentally new products that will be in demand on the world market. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the GOK technologists, we have successfully completed the modernization of the pelletizing plant. A production platform has been created for the long-term development of the Central Plant.
