The Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Kaziya Kasymbek said on Wednesday in Astana that the investments of China and Kazakhstan in 51 joint industrial projects exceeded $ 27 billion.
“This year we plan to launch six Kazakh-Chinese projects worth US $ 363 million. The total number of projects is 51, and they cost more than $ 27 billion, ”Kassymbek said.
The main areas of cooperation are oil and gas, chemical industry, energy, mining, metallurgy, agriculture and mechanical engineering.
Kasymek stressed that his department is actively seeking to attract investment to the country and will soon present an investment brand for Kazakhstan. According to him, a special council will be created to coordinate activities aimed at implementing the national innovation policy.
The ministry also plans to hold a major international investment forum in Astana in May, which will expand opportunities for attracting investment to the country. According to the ministry, in 2017, exports from Kazakhstan increased by 321 percent and exceeded the value of $ 43 billion.
